HK Initiative has been the Executive Producer and Consultant for the BUSINESS OF DESIGN WEEK which was held as a hybrid virtual program where a global audience of over 1,000,000 exchanged and explored upcoming business opportunities.
Over 80 renowned brand leaders, design masters and entrepreneurs from various sectors gathered at business of design week (BODW).
BODW is Asia’s premier annual event on design which offered an exciting line-up of key panel sessions – drawing on the theme ‘global design reset’ – signified the need for fresh thinking, decisive leadership and collaborative creativity across various disciplines. Organized by Hong Kong design centre (HKDC), the concluded program that run from 1-4 December, included designers and speakers from all over the world with names like Bruce Mau, Herzog & de Meuron, Refik Anadol Studio, Thomas Heatherwick and many more

BODW 2021 was Broadcast LIVE on ViuTV and streamed globally
The Business of Design Week Summit was held in hybrid live format and simulcast on multiple platforms for the first time, making it the first international design conference in Asia with live TV broadcast. Among over 300,000 participants at BODW 2020 were brand leaders, cross-industry professionals, government and policy makers from around the world.
HK Initiative worked with Hong Kong Design Centre HKDC as the Executive Producer and Digital Design Consultant to realise a new hybrid/virtual format for BODW 2020 working with partners including ViuTV to deliver content from more than 100+ speakers.
HK Initiative is currently consulting on developing HKDC’s new Digital Knowledge platform that will be launched in Q3 of 2021 and KODW 2021 and BODW 2021.

HK Initiative was the Executive Producer responsible for bringing together the international team to deliver Mind HK’s 2020 Mental Health Conference. The 2020 event was a HYBRID Experience with global speakers from around the world interacting with Hong Kong participants. Due to Covid Restrictions, we could only have 60 people live in the venue while the rest of the world tuned in globally.

The Youth Summit, with the overarching theme “Resilience: Supporting each other and ourselves”, is being organised by the event’s youth ambassadors together with Coolminds, Mind HK and KELY Support Group’s joint youth mental health initiative. HK Initiative is proud to create and produce a multitude of video content to help the Mekong Club connect and build their global audience using new channels to reach out to the Private sector to help prevent Modern Slavery.
HK Initiative designed and developed this interactive series to help Mekong Club build awareness and global reach in their efforts to fight Modern Slavery. Everything was shot on a green screen and HK Initiative create all the virtual graphics to bring the series to life.
CURATE is Facebook’s ambition is to help business leaders keep ahead by creating and curating insightful content and experiences. They aim to grow businesses, networks and perspectives through events and multi-platform content by shining a light on people, organisations and trends that are challenging the status quo. Small, invite-only Grow events take place in the UK, Italy, Germany and Sweden this year. In 2020 Facebook partnered with the Marketing Society to launch in Hong Kong.
The topic for the First CURATE series of events is The Future of Communication and HK Initiative is developing and planning several Hybrid events for Facebook and The Marketing Society.
HK Initiative designed and produced a Global Broadcast with Matthew Friedman Friedman who is launching a global campaign entitled BE THE HERO.
The aim of the campaign is to engage, inspire and motivate ordinary people to accept some responsibility for this world and to do something – anything. In the Video, Matt discusses how he believes there is heroism within each and every one of us and collective actions have the greatest chance of impact – an army of ordinary people.
With a full live video compliment this event allowed IPSOS and The Marketing Society to collaborate to showcase their Global Research based on 2020 Predictions. We used a 2 camera video shoot with live feeds.
